HB 559 is a health care large bill, in which one section authorizes pharmacists to administer influenza and COVID vaccines to patients 7 years and older, and delegate these tasks to pharmacy students or pharmacy technicians. The pharmacist must inform patients under 18 years old, as well as their accompanying caregiver, of the importance of well-child visits with a pediatrician or other licensed primary-care providers.

NVIC opposes broadening the authorization of pharmacy employees to administer vaccines, but takes no position on other sections of the bill.
