UPDATE: 1/10/2023 - HB 425 was referred to the House Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs Committee on 1/10/2023

HB 425 was introduced on 1/5/2023 and is sponsored by Representative Timothy Horrigan. The bill would repeal the statute which provides for medical freedom regarding immunizations. The same representative sponsored an identical bill, HB 1481, in the 2022 legislative session.

On July 23, 2021, a New Hampshire bill providing certain medical freedom protections was signed into law, 141-C:1. This law states that everyone has the right to bodily integrity, and is free from government threat or compulsion to receive an immunization. It also prohibits using COVID-19 immunization as a condition to access state and local government facilities or to receive state and local government services (excluding nursing homes and healthcare providers). In addition, the law established a legislative committee to examine the policy of medical intervention, including immunizations.

If passed, HB 425 would repeal all of these provisions as of 1/1/2024.
