Description:

UPDATE: 5/10/2018 - HB 2121 officially died on May 4, 2018. 

UPDATE: 5/10/2017 - HB 2121 failed to move before the deadline, however bills in KS carry over from odd to even years so this bill will have to be watched in the 2018 legislative session.

UPDATE: 3/23/2017 - HB 2121 had a hearing on 3/14/2017.  The bill has not moved out of committee as of 3/23/2017.  Continue to urge the Senate Committee on Public Health & Welfare Members to oppose HB 2121.  The Kansas Legislative Session ends on April 7, 2017.

UPDATE: HB 2121 as amended and passed by the house is scheduled for a hearing in the Senate Committee on Public Health & Welfare on 3/14/2017 9:30 AM Room 118-N.  The amendment makes this new reporting requirement to the vaccine tracking system effective on or after July 1, 2020.  

UPDATE 2/21/2017: HB 2121 referred to Senate Committee on Public Health & Welfare 2/21/2017.

UPDATE 2/5/2017: HB 2121 passed the House Committee on Health & Human Services 2/3/2017.

UPDATE 1/26/2017: HB 2121 was scheduled for a hearing on 2/2/17 at 1:30 PM in Room 546-S.

HB 2121 was introduced on 1/20/2017 and is sponsored by the House Committee on Health and Human Services.  This bill would require any person administering a vaccine to report it to the state registry. 

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
Section 1. (a) Physicians and other persons authorized by law in this
state to administer vaccines shall report the administration of a vaccine in
this state to the state registry maintained for such purpose by the secretary
of health and environment in a manner and form as may be required by the
secretary.

Kansas immunization records are recorded in Web IZ . Immunization records are incorporated into the Kansas Health Information Technology and the Kansas Health Information Network .
