SB 121 was introduced on Jan. 7, 2015.  The bill is currently being considered in the Senate Judiciary Committee.

According to the fiscal note - SB121 was introduced on behalf of the Legislative Health and Human Services Committee and
DOH reports it has strong support from the New Mexico Medical Society, the New Mexico
Pediatric Society, the New Mexico Academy of Family Physicians, the Immunization Practices
Advisory Committee, and the New Mexico Immunization Coalition.

The bill creates “universal” vaccination for all children in the state, a goal with significiant public
health benefits, according to the OSI and DOH. A difficulty has arisen because not all insurers
are voluntarily providing their fair share. This legislation makes such contributions mandatory. - text of the fiscal note
