HB 846 was introduced on 2/5/2015 and is sponsored by Rep. Jeremy LaFaver.  http://house.mo.gov/member.aspx?district=025&year=2015

The bill was read a 2nd time on 2/9/2015, however it did not move forward.  Instead another bill, committee substitute for SB 341, was amended and had the following added:

7. All public, private, and parochial day care centers, preschools, and nursery schools shall notify
the parent or guardian of each child at the time of initial enrollment in or attendance at the facility that the
parent or guardian may request notice of whether there are children currently enrolled in or attending the
facility for whom an immunization exemption has been filed. Beginning December 1, 2015, all public, private,
and parochial day care centers, preschools, and nursery schools shall notify the parent or guardian of each
child currently enrolled in or attending the facility that the parent or guardian may request notice of whether
there are children currently enrolled in or attending the facility for whom an immunization exemption has
been filed. Any public, private, or parochial day care center, preschool, or nursery school shall notify the
parent or guardian of a child enrolled in or attending the facility, upon request, of whether there are children
currently enrolled in or attending the facility for whom an immunization exemption has been filed.";

This bill is scheduled for a 3rd reading on 4/30/2105.

This original bill would have  added the following new law:

Each school superintendent shall notify the principal at each school building with a child in attendance who is not immunized as required under this section, or who falls under an exemption of this section. Upon receipt of such information, each principal shall send a letter home with students informing parents and guardians that there is a nonimmunized student in attendance at the school.

It is also important to understand that this new language is being added to the current law concerning exemptions, so this bill not only needs to be opposed, but watched for any possible amendments that would eliminate or restrict the religious exemption for Missouri.
