SB 461 passed the full senate on 2/5/2015 - by a vote of 97: yeas 45, nays 3.  The bill was referred to the house on 2/16/15.

SB 461 was introduced on 1/14/2015.  The bill is sponsored by Senators Miller and Stoops.  The bill had a hearing on 1/22/2015 and was passed by the Committee on Health and Provider Services on a vote of 10 yes, and 0 no.

This bill adds a Hepatitis A Vaccine requirement, removes the ability of a parent to document history of chickenpox, makes new requirements concerning the Indiana Immunization Registry and expands current information on HPV Vaccine required to be given to parents of female 6th grade students to include boys.

This bill could be amended to add language concerning goals for HPV Vaccination rates that was in the house bill that died , HB 1359.

In this opinion Dr. Patrick Loehrer Sr states, "We strongly support amending SB 461 so that it includes the setting of HPV Vaccination goals."    http://www.heraldbulletin.com/opinion/guest-viewpoint-setting-goals-in-fight-against-cancer-will-lead/article_84f687f9-330a-5f58-b9ed-6a271def399c.html
