Status: Died, session ended 3/29/2017

Description:

UPDATE: 4/6/2017 - SB 1050 failed to move forward and the Idaho legislative session ended on 3/29/2017.

UPDATE 2/9/2017: SB 1050 was referred to the Senate Committee on Health & Welfare on 2/8/2017.

SB 1050 was introduced on 2/7/2017.  This bill would clarify that a parent or guardian need only sign a statement of objection in
any form and present it to the school to be exempted from vaccine requirements for religious or other grounds.  This would prevent parents from being forced to use a state issued form.

New Section:

The signed statement may appear in a letter from the parent or guardian and is not required to be made on a form furnished by the state board of health and welfare, a school or another entity.
