A4324 was introduced and referred to the Assembly Committee on Health on 2/14/2023. It is sponsored by Assemblywoman Aileen M. Gunther and cosponsored by Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz.
This bill requires employees at children's overnight camps, summer day camps and traveling summer day camps to receive immunizations that have been recommended by the department of health. Employees are to be immunized against mumps, measles, diphtheria, rubella, varicella, pertussis, and tetanus. The requirements would not apply to employees who hold genuine and sincere religious beliefs. The bill directs the commissioner to promulgate rules and regulations to implement the bill's requirements.
If passed, the bill would become effective immediately. Section 1394 of the Public Health Law would be amended by adding a new Subdivision 10 with the provisions above.
