Description:

The governor of New Jersey issued Executive Order No. 252 on 8/06/2021. It requires healthcare workers and workers in high-risk congregate settings to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or submit to testing at a minimum of one to two times weekly. Workplaces covered by this order must have policies for tracking the COVID-19 testing results of their employees and must report the results to local public health departments.

 

Healthcare settings covered by the order include hospitals, long-term care facilities, residential facilities, clinic-based settings, and home-health settings.

 

High-risk congregate settings covered by the order include correctional facilities and juvenile justice secure care facilities. They also include licensed community residences for individuals with intellectual disabilities (IDD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI), as well as certified day programs for these individuals, and licensed community residences for adults with mental illness.

 

The workplaces covered by the order must meet the minimum standards provided by the order. They are not prohibited from implementing anything more stringent.
