Description:

The governor of Texas issued Executive Order GA-40  on 10/11/2021, prohibiting any entity in Texas from compelling an individual to get a COVID-19 vaccine, if the individual objects to the vaccination for reasons of personal conscience, religious beliefs, or for medical reasons, which may include prior recovery from COVID-19. The individuals covered by this order include both employees of entities in Texas as well as consumers, and the order includes an enforcement mechanism from Texas Government Code § 418.173.
