Description:

Dear Alabama NVIC Advocacy Team Members,

Thank you to everyone who took the time to contact legislators from our action alerts on SB 267.  Your hard work paid off.

With the passage of SB 267 and the signature of Governor Ivey on May 24th, Alabama joins the ranks of states prohibiting vaccine passports! The bill has gone into effect immediately.

This law prohibits state and local governments from requiring proof of vaccination status as a condition of receiving any government service or for entry into government building.  Institutions of education can only require proof of vaccination for those that were required on 1/1/2021, which would exclude COVID-19 Vaccines.  This new law also prohibits an entity or individual doing business in Alabama from refusing to provide any goods or services, or refusing to allow admission, to a customer based on the customer’s immunization status or lack of documentation that the customer has received an immunization.
