Description:

UPDATE: 4/5/2017 - SB 177 has not had any activity since being referred to the Senate Committee on Education.  The legislative session ended on 5/26/2017, however bills can carry over to the 2018 session.  

UPDATE 2/3/2017: SB 177 will have a second reading on 2/7/2017 and was referred to Senate Committee on Education.

SB 177 will have first reading on 2/6/2017.  This bill is sponsored by Senator Nathan Dahm.  

This bill would require parents be given information about exemptions to vaccination by adding the following new section into the existing law concerning vaccine requirements:

C. In notifying parents or guardians of the requirements of
this section, school boards of education shall include information
about the exemptions from vaccination requirements provided by
Section 1210.192 of this title. The provisions of this subsection
shall apply to all forms of communication including, but not limited
to, e-mails, internet websites, social media or paper mail delivered
to the physical address of the parent or guardian.
