Makes changes to existing law concerning reporting of adult vaccines

Location: NY
Title: Makes changes to existing law concerning reporting of adult vaccines
Identifier: S44
Stance: OPPOSE
Action Required: None at this time
Status: Failed to move in the 2017 legislative session

Description:

UPDATE: 7/7/2017 - S44 failed to move in the 2017 legislative session ended.  However, bills can carry over to 2018 in New York if the sponsor requests it.

S44 was prefiled and referred to the Senate Health Committee on 1/4/2017. This bill is sponsored by Senator Hoylman.

Current law states that any health care provider who administers any vaccine to adults 19 and older may report the vaccination to the health dept.  This bill would change the word may to "shall" report.  The bill as introduced does not change current law that requires consent of the person vaccinated before the vaccination can be reported.
