UPDATE: 8/31/2015 - AB 1117 failed to move out of Senate Appropriations and died. 

UPDATE: 7/27/2015 - AB 1117 passed the Senate Health Committee and was referred to Senate Appropriations.  The bill is scheduled for a hearing in Senate Appropriations for Aug. 17, 2015. 

UPDATE: 6/29/2015 - AB 1117 is scheduled for a hearing in the Senate Health Committee for July 1, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. - John L. Burton Hearing Room (4203).

UPDATE: 5/29/2015 - AB 1117 passed the Assembly Appropriations Committee.  The bill passed 2nd reading on 6/2/2015 and will have 3rd reading and vote by the full house next.

UPDATE: AB  1117 passed the Assembly Health Committee on 4/22 and was referred to the Assembly Appropriations Committee.  The bill was placed on the suspense file and is scheduled for a hearing in the Assembly Appropriations Committee for 5/28.

UPDATE: 3/27/2015 - AB 1117 was amended and referred to Assembly Health Committee.  The new version establishes the California Childhood Immunization Quality Improvement Fund (CCIQIF).  The bill would enact a demonstration project with the intent being to ensure that all possible steps are taken to ensure that two year old children who are enrolled in Medi-Cal managed care receive all recommended immunizations.

AB 1117 was read the first time on 3/2/2105.  This bill is sponsored by Assembly Member Christina Garcia.   This bill is very vague and simply add the following new law:

SECTION 1.

 It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to improve vaccination rates for persons two years of age in Medi-Cal managed care.
