UPDATE:3/22/2015- SB 598 was heard in the Senate Education, Health and Environmental Affairs Committee and is still in that committee.  The committee gave this bill an unfavorable Report on 3/16/2015.  The bill did not move out of committee and died.

SB 598 was introduced on 2/6/2015 and referred to the Senate Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs Committee.  The bill is sponsored at the request of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.  

This bill would require all health care providers in the State to report all vaccinations to the Maryland immunization registry, ImmuNet, except that reporting of flu vaccines is not required until July 1, 2017. 

(III) EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (E) OF THIS SECTION, REPORT TO IMMUNET ALL VACCINES ADMINISTERED. 

(E) BEGINNING ON OR BEFORE JULY 1, 2017, AND SUBJECT TO § 8 12–508(A)(4)(I) OF THE HEALTH OCCUPATIONS ARTICLE, A HEALTH CARE PROVIDER, OR THE AGENT OF A HEALTH CARE PROVIDER, SHALL REPORT TO  IMMUNET ALL INFLUENZA VACCINES ADMINISTERED BY THE HEALTH CARE PROVIDER.
