UPDATE: 2/9/2016 - SB 5143 was carried over from 2015 and placed on third reading by Rules Committee on 2/8/16.  

This bill would require the health dept to develop and make available resources for expecting parents regarding recommended childhood immunizations. The resources are intended to be provided to expecting parents by their health care providers to encourage discussion on childhood immunizations and postnatal care.  

Nothing in the bill requires that the information be balanced and include the risks and failures of vaccines.  The bill is unnecessary.

UPDATE: 4/29/2015 - SB 5143 By resolution, returned to Senate Rules Committee for third reading. 

UPDATE: 2/22/2015 - SB 5143 had a public hearing in the House Health Care and Wellness Committee on 3/17/2015.  The bill is scheduled for executive sessions on March 24, 25 and 26 in this committee. 

UPDATE: 3/18/2015 - SB 5143 passed the full senate on 3/5/2015.  The bill is now scheduled for executive session in the House Committee on Health Care & Wellness at 10:00 AM on March 20, 2015. 

SB 5143 is sponsored by Senators Becker, Bailey, Dammeier, Rivers, Frockt, Brown and Parlette.
