Description:

UPDATE: 2/24/2015 - on Feb. 18, 2015 the enacting clause was stricken for A 943.  This means the bill is dead. 

UPDATE: 2/11/2015 - S 1536 has been withdrawn, however A 943 is still alive.  Contact your New York State Assembly Member and Senator and ask them to support A 943.  Contact the sponsors of A 943 and tell them thank you for supporting parental rights and informed consent. 

A 943 was introduced on 1/8/2014 and referred to the Assembly Health Committee.  This bill is sponsored by Assembly Member Abinanti and cosponsored by Assembly Members Colton, Kolb and Clark.  

S 1536 was introduced on 1/13/2015 and referred to the Senate Health Committee. This bill is sponsored by Senator Dilan and cosponsored by Senator Lanza. 

The bills are the same and both would provide for a philosophical exemption to vaccination by adding the following option into existing law:
 OR CHECK A FIXED STATEMENT PRE-PRINTED ON THE FORM INDICATING HIS OR HER PERSONAL OBJECTION TO IMMUNIZATIONS, MEDICAL TESTING AND TREATMENTS
