Description:

UPDATE: HB 465 had a hearing in the House Public Health Committee on 3/3/2015 at 8:00 AM.  The bill was left pending in that committee and died.

UPDATE: 2/14/2015 - SB 29 was referred to the Senate Human Services Committee on 1/26/2015 and HB 465 was referred to the House Public Health Committee on 2/12/2015.

SB 29 was filed on 11/10/14 and is sponsored by Senator Zaffirini. HB 465 was filed on 12/8/2014 and is sponsored by Rep. Howard. These bills are similar to bills that were considered in the 2013 session, HB 772 and SB 40.  HB 772 passed the house but failed to move in the senate. 

SB 29 and HB 465 would remove the current law that requires prior written consent before any information is put into the Texas Immunization Registry, ImmTrac.
