UPDATE 2/2/2017: SB 1509 was referred to the Senate Committees on Rules and Education on 2/1/2017.
SB 1509 has been introduced and is sponsored by Senator MENDEZ and cosponsored by Senators ANDRADE, BRADLEY, BLANC, MIRANDA, ENGEL, PESHLAKAI, POWERS, HANNLEY, QUEZADA and SALMAN.
This bill would require public and charter schools to post their vaccination rates on their website by adding the following:
New Section:
EACH PUBLIC SCHOOL, INCLUDING EACH CHARTER SCHOOL, THAT MAINTAINS A WEBSITE SHALL POST THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION ON THE WEBSITE:
1. THE IMMUNIZATION RATE OF PUPILS WHO ARE ENROLLED AT THE SCHOOL.
2. WHETHER THE SCHOOL EMPLOYS A SCHOOL NURSE.
3. IF SCHOOL OFFICIALS OR EMPLOYEES OTHER THAN SCHOOL NURSES
PROVIDE HEALTH CARE SERVICES TO PUPILS, THE QUALIFICATIONS OF THOSE PERSONS.
