UPDATE: 7/7/2017 - S3546 failed to move in the 2017 legislative session ended.  However, bills can carry over to 2018 in New York if the sponsor requests it. 

S3546 was introduced on 1/24/2017 and referred to the Senate Health Committee. This bill is sponsored by Senators Gianaris, Addabbo, Hoylman and Stavisky.

This bill would require the parent of child using a religious belief exemption to vaccination file an affidavit with the school signed by a physician stating that the physician has explained to the parent the medical risks to the child and to other individuals for not vaccinating.
