UPDATE 2/1/2017: HB 1068 died in Committee on 1/31/2017.

HB 1068 was introduced on 1/24/2017 and referred to the Public Health and Human Services Committee.  This bill is sponsored by Rep. Currie . 

This bill would enact the following new law:

Notwithstanding any provision of this section to the contrary, the State Department of Health shall not require health care providers or health care facilities to administer vaccinations for Hepatitis B to all newborns at birth or before discharge from the hospital, and a health care provider or health care facility shall not administer a vaccination for Hepatitis B to a newborn at birth or before discharge from the hospital unless the parent or parents of the newborn request the administration of the vaccine to the newborn.
