S2955 was introduced on 1/18/2017 and referred to the Senate Education Committee. This bill is sponsored by Senator Croci.
A3912 is the same as S2955 and was introduced on 1/30/2017 and referred to the Assembly Education Committee. This bill is sponsored by Assembly Member Thiele and cosponsored by Assembly Member Graf.
These bills would require school districts to report vaccine exemptions by adding the following new section:
4. a. Each school district receiving at least one request for an exemption from vaccination, pursuant to subdivision nine of section twenty-one hundred sixty-four of the public health law, must report to the department, by June thirtieth of the given year, the following information:
(i) The number of students for which an exemption was requested.
(ii) The number of students for which an exemption was granted.
(iii) The number of students for which an exemption was denied.
b. The department shall compile data reported pursuant to paragraph a of this subdivision, and shall report such data to the legislature and the governor by December first of each year.
